Visit Hampi before it’s too late
Hampi is famous for being a beautiful pilgrimage. Many tourists for various countries to visit this place.
Located in North Karnataka, it has a lot of heritage and beautiful places to see. It is even officially declared as a heritage site by UNESCO.
However, these days, the tensions between local people and authorities has been rising high. Due to that reason, Hampi is losing its attraction. The future of Hampi itself seems to be in danger because of the strife.
Be that as it may, there are still many great reasons why you should visit this place as soon as you can.
Here, you can take a tour of Sri Virupaksha Temple. It is devoted to Lord Shiva and it is the oldest temple in Hampi. It is also called the oldest functioning temple of India!
Hampi is full of amazing rock formations. These are great for trekking and adventurous activities.
When you visit the town, be sure to pay a visit to Lakshmi. No, not the goddess. It is the temple elephant which gives blessings to the locals for offering food.
Hampi has some of the most beautiful and ancient architecture. The town used to be one of the richest kingdoms in ancient times.
Hampi has something for music lovers too. During sunset, visit Matunga hills to see people playing music. Instruments are also passed on to people so you can participate there.
When you visit there, stay at Hampi’s relaxing guesthouses. They promote a chilling atmosphere and have beautiful surroundings.
Be sure not to miss the boat trip in a Dongi. It is a bowl-shaped boat made of reed, saplings and hide.
Be careful with the monkeys of the town. While they are peaceful, they tend to steal any food they see and sometimes your bags too. So keep your food hidden and your bags close to you.
