Viral Video Misleads: No ₹3000 scheme by govt for women on Raksha Bandhan
A video is being rounded on social media, which falsely claims that the government will gift money to women on the occasion of Rakhi.
As the anticipation of Raksha Bandhan 2023 grows, a viral video circulating on social media has sparked false claims about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s involvement in a supposed scheme.
The misleading video asserts that PM Modi will grant ₹3000 to every woman as part of a novel initiative initiated by the government.
According to the video gaining traction, the Prime Minister is purportedly set to bestow a monthly Rakhi gift of ₹3000 to all women across the nation under a new government scheme.
The video was shared by a Facebook user. The clip insinuates that this financial benefit will kickstart Raksha Bandhan 2023.
However, a fact check promptly debunks these claims. The notion of PM Modi initiating such a scheme is completely false.
The video that’s circulating and gaining momentum on social media is actually referencing a program introduced by the Madhya Pradesh state government, not the Central government.
The scheme in question, titled Mukhyamantri Ladli Behna Yojana, is spearheaded by the BJP-led Madhya Pradesh government.
It aims to improve the economic status, access to healthcare, and educational opportunities of women in the state.
Under this initiative, every woman in Madhya Pradesh will receive ₹1000 as financial support.
It’s important to note that this scheme has been ongoing for several years and is unrelated to Raksha Bandhan.
The video’s assertion that PM Modi is presenting a Raksha Bandhan-centric scheme for women is unequivocally false.
The viral video mistakenly attributes the Madhya Pradesh state initiative to the Prime Minister, creating confusion and spreading misinformation.
As social media continues to be a conduit for information dissemination, it’s crucial for users to exercise caution, fact-check claims, and rely on credible sources to avoid falling victim to misleading content.
