Top 10 Indian Billionaires in the Forbes List
The World’s Billionaire list for 2019 has been released by Forbes.
E-commerce giant Amazon founder Bezos is the richest person in the world with a net worth of $131 billion. Bill Gates and Warren Buffett are in the next two positions with $96.5 billion and $82.5 billion respectively.
Some Indians also secured positions in this list.
Mukesh Ambani is in the 13th position in the list with a wealth of $50 billion. He stood in the 19th position in 2018 with a net worth of $40.1 billion. Mukesh Ambani leads the 106 billionaires from India on this list and remained as the richest person in India.
The second richest Indian is Wipro Chairman Azim Premji with a wealth of $22.6 billion. He ranked 36th position in the top 100 billionaires of the world.
Technology major HCL’s co-founder Shiv Nadar is the third richest Indian in the list with a net worth of $14.4 billion. He is in 82nd position in the top 100 list of world billionaires.
ArcelorMittal Chairman and CEO Lakshmi Mittal ranked at 91st in the list.
The top 10 Indian billionaires listed in the Forbes are as follows:
- Mukesh Ambani
- Azim Premji
- Shiv Nadar
- Lakshmi Mittal
- Uday Kotak
- Kumar Mangalam Birla
- Radhakishan Damani and family
- Cyrus Poonawalla
- Gautam Adani
- Nusli Wadia
The list is released considering the wealth as per the stock prices and exchange rates from February 8, 2019. Hence, the names in the list may not remain the same within some days of publication, Forbes says.
In 2018, the number of billionaires in the Forbes list was 2,208. But, the latest ranking has only 2,153 billionaires and shows a decrease in the number of billionaires.
