Ring Road Shubha, Movie by All-women Crew
Ring Road Shubha is an upcoming movie in Kannada. The speciality of this movie is that it is the first Indian movie for which women have worked all its technical wings. The movie is directed by Priya Belliappa and produced by Ranjini Ravindra Das. Priya Belliappa is a graduate of Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune.
The leading role is played by Khushie and other roles are played by Nikita Thukral and Duniya Vijay. The editor, scriptwriter, choreographer, music director, cinematographer, costume designer, dialogue writer and art director are all women. Even public relation and makeup are being controlled by women.
The movie is primarily based on the murder of a guy by his fiancé. Though many newspapers imagine that the story is based on a real story Shubha who murdered her fiancé in Bangalore in 2003, Priya Belliappa, the director of the film clarifies that the story is based on many similar incidents like Shubha’s story, but is very different from that.
Shubha who was sentenced to life imprisonment was granted bail by the Supreme Court of India recently. The movie is in its final stage and is expected to release on 19 December 2014.
