There have been some misconceptions in society for several years.
Several people are still believing in them as if they are true.
Here is a list of some popular misconceptions that people around the world believe:
One year of dog’s life is equal to seven years in human life. This is a popular misconception dated back to 60s which was used to calculate the age of dogs. But, now, you should not depend on the principle. The life of a dog depends on the breed and its size.
The average life expectancy was around 30 years in prehistoric times. However, that does not mean all people died at that age. The main reason for the low life expectancy is the high child mortality rate.
Majority of people believed that lightning does not strike the same place twice. But, the available research reveals contrary to that.
People believe that one must drink 8 glasses of water a day. Though it is essential to drink enough water per day, the number of glasses of water that one should drink varies based on different factors including their body type, thirst, season etc.
Another popular misconception is that flies live for just 24 hours. In fact, flies live for around 2 to 4 weeks. They spend their entire winter in hibernation as well.
There is a myth about the tongue that it has just four areas of taste recognition.
Another popular myth is that bulls react to red color. But, they don’t see color and only movement. It is not the color, but the piece of cloth in front of them can get them irritated.
Using shower gel every day can wash off the natural oils of the body. So, just use it on armpits and groin areas. But, for the entire body, use it 2 to 3 times a week.
