Now you can book train tickets on Amazon India
Good news to passengers of Indian Railways. Now they can book train tickets on Amazon.
Amazon India partnered with Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) for this.
Passengers can also get 10 per cent cashback of up to ₹100 on their first train ticket booking.
Amazon Prime members can get an additional 2 per cent cashback of up to ₹120.
This is an introductory offer valid for a limited period. Amazon India also waived off service and payment gateway transaction charges.
However, this feature is only available on Amazon Android app and mobile website at present. Soon, iOS customers can also use the feature as Amazon is working on it.
Amazon set up a page for train ticket bookings. The page has a QR code to scan for quick access on mobile.
Amazon wants to be a single-stop solution for all the needs of customers. Now Amazon customers can book tickets for buses, trains and flights with a single click through Amazon Pay.
They can also choose other digital payment methods for booking tickets. Amazon customers can also download or cancel their tickets. If they want to cancel their tickets, they can do so from ‘Your Orders’ section.
Amazon Pay users can get an instant refund in their wallets if they cancel tickets or in the event of booking failures.
Before booking tickets, passengers will have to check the availability of the train seat and quota on the app. They can also check the PNR status of their tickets on this platform. However, those booked train tickets using other mediums cannot check the PNR status of tickets on Amazon as of now.
Amazon helpline is ready to help the customers round the clock on phone or chat.
