Indian tourists can visit Malaysia without a visa
Now, Indian tourists can visit Malaysia without a visa. Starting from today, Malaysia offers visa-free entry to Indians and Chinese throughout the year.
To boost tourism, Malaysia granted visa-free travel for a period of 15 days for Indian tourists in 2020.
India and China are the most populated countries in the world. Hence, visa-free travel is offered to both these countries.
Malaysia is anticipating 30 million international tourist arrivals to the country through 2020 campaign.
The government of Malaysia released orders that grant a 15-day visa exemption for tourists from India and China from January 1 to December 31, 2020.
The gazettes signed by the Prime Minister of Malaysia Dr Mahathir Mohamad, dated Dec 26, stated that the tourists from India or China must register through an “electronic travel registration and information system” before their travel to Malaysia.
Their travel should be within three months from the date of the registration.
The registration can be done either individually or through travel agencies.
But the entry and exit in Malaysia will only take place through authorized airports or entry points. Hence, tourists should be careful about that.
Tourists who use this facility cannot stay there beyond 15 days. They cannot apply for other passes under the Immigration Regulations 1963 as well.
The tourists should have enough cash for expenses, a credit card or a debit card and a valid return ticket with them. They should also show their travel itinerary in Malaysia.
However, tourists can re-register to enter the country after they leave it. They will be allowed for that after 45 days from the date after they leave the country.
