Tendulkar gets India to Victory
It was in November 1993 when a young Sachin Tendulkar was about to defend South Africa in the last over of the match. India had to defend six runs from six balls. With his seam-up deliveries, he managed to give just three runs. India went to the finals of the Hero cups by winning by two runs.
Winning the final of Titan Cup
In the final match of the Titan Cup at the Wankhede Stadium on November 6, 1996, Sachin Tendulkar beat South Africa again. His score of 67 runs from 88 balls was the highest of the match. Venkatesh Prasad taking early two wickets turned the game against South Africa easily.
Harbhajan Singh brings head-spinning victory
Harbhajan Singh took seven South African wickets in the tourists’ second innings. His bowling helped in securing a series-clinching win. He showed his great talent of spin bowling by turning a 105-run lead into a decisive advantage.
Suresh Raina becoming India’s first centurion in Twenty20
St Lucia, May 2, 2010, Suresh Raina set a record by becoming India’s first centurion in Twenty20 internationals. In the match, India was having a poor start. Raina faced the third ball of the innings. His batting changed India’s tides as he scores 101 runs in 60 balls.
The world cup success
On February 22, 2015, India got their first win in the 50-over world cup over South Africa. Shikar Dhawan’s 137 runs set up the path for India’s victory. Ajinkya Rahane at No 4 scoring 79 from 60 balls was also a great addition. The fielding was done even well surprising South Africa with two run-outs.
