Being happy without a purpose
It is often a philosophical argument of whether or not one needs a purpose to be happy. Is happiness a choice? According to Aristotle, happiness is the meaning and the purpose of life, the whole aim and end of human existence.
The idea behind that saying is that happiness does not come from other people or things, it comes from within. It means that happiness is available to all of us, right now. Stuff like a house or a new car won’t actually make you happier. There are many simple things in life that can be enjoyed to their fullest.
In order to be truly happy, there are several things that need to be changed in your mind. Letting go of a negative mindset can change a lot. It is important to always consider your present situation as it is. Accepting the reality of the situation can make a lot of difference. Once you accept your position, you can look for a solution to any problem.
Being grateful for what you have is also a great way to be happy. More importantly, always share your happiness with others. This will only increase your happiness too.
Consider what your mind constantly focuses on. Is it about your past regrets or a hopeful future? This difference can change your happiness levels. Letting go of your past regrets is a good way to heal yourself and make yourself happy.
The ‘Forgive and Forget’ attitude is suggested by many philosophers because it works. When you truly forgive, you are the one releasing bad emotions. Whether you hold bad feelings or not only affects you.
When you have a situation you don’t like, think about ways to change it. If it’s impossible to change it, then it is time to consider how you can adjust yourself to it. This only makes your mind peaceful. It is not admitting defeat to accept certain things the way they are but rather a victory for your mind.
