EXAMD revolutionises pet healthcare with innovation | Fusion - WeRIndia

Pet healthcare just became more compassionate and convenient, thanks to the efforts of VETiNSTANT, a startup co-founded by Vani Aiyer and Vivek Srinivas.

Motivated by their personal experiences as pet parents, the duo, along with product developer Rajkumar S, created EXAMD.

This non-invasive device has been designed to monitor dogs’ health from the comfort of home.

The idea was born out of frustration with traditional methods of taking vital signs in pets, which often involve uncomfortable and invasive procedures.

The trio began working on the device two years ago, aiming to provide a stress-free solution for pet parents.

EXAMD, roughly the size of a TV remote, is priced at ₹6,500 and offers several features.

It measures temperature through external rectal contact in less than a minute.

Additionally, it assesses oxygen saturation by being held against the ear and records heart rate by pressing it on the dog’s belly.

The device’s readings have shown over 99% accuracy in tests conducted on more than 1,500 dogs at Pondicherry Veterinary University.

The data collected by EXAMD can be uploaded to VETiNSTANT’s app, Woofnosis. Thus, it allows veterinarians to access accurate health information during online or tele-consultations.

This innovation addresses the gap in pet healthcare by ensuring precise diagnosis and treatment recommendations.

The team has already opened pre-orders for EXAMD and is now testing it on cats and cattle.

Future products include Mewnosis for cats and Moonosis for cattle, expanding their mission to improve animal healthcare infrastructure.

At the recent PanIIT World of Technology event, EXAMD garnered attention for its potential to transform pet healthcare.

Vani emphasized that it is essential to invest in animal healthcare. She also says that healthcare innovation is the key to a balanced ecosystem.
