Specialties of Independence Day of India 2019
India is going to celebrate 73rd Independence Day on August 15, 2019.
India achieved many things after independence.
There are so many specialties of the country. India has the most number of languages spoken in any country.
India is the only country that executed the largest merger and acquisition activity by joining 560 small princely states into the country without using any bullets.
It is the only nation in the world that gave the voting right to all adults since its first Day of Independence. In the US, the voting right was given to everyone only after over 150 years after its independence.
Apart from the overall achievements of the country, India has many specialties for this Independence Day.

- Naga 73rd Independence Day Football Tournament 2019 was inaugurated in North Sikkim on 28th July.
- For the first time, Tricolor would be hoisted in Jammu and Kashmir. BJP announced to celebrate “Jashn-e-Azadi” on this occasion.
- All schools under North Delhi Municipal Corporation would display the photos of the President and the Prime Minister of India.
- Indian government abrogated Article 370 that gives special status to Jammu and Kashmir through a Presidential order on 5th August 2019.
- Banaras Hindu University decided to go completely paperless on the 73rd Independence Day.
- Bharat Ratna awards were conferred to former President of India Pranab Mukherjee, social activist Nanaji Deshmukh and singer, lyricist Bhupen Hazarika (posthumously) at President House on 8th August.
- The world’s longest Tricolor flag of about 4.5 km length was unfurled by Chhattisgarh on 11th August 2019 supported by a chain of thousands of people in Raipur. With this, it created a new world record.
- Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the star Indian Cricket Player and the Lieutenant colonel will unfurl Indian Nation Flag in Leh.
