National Rail Museum in Delhi
The National Rail Museum was inaugurated in 1977 in New Delhi. It spreads over 11 acres. It attracts people of all ages who visit this museum throughout the year.
The National Rail Museum and the Ministry of Railways launched an online ticket booking facility in association with the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC).
The National Rail Museum (NRM) authorities announced that people can book tickets online through the museum’s website from now.
They say that the online booking facility helps people save time as there is no need to stand in long-standing queues at the ticket counters.
Different payment methods are available for booking tickets online. These include payment through debit and credit cards, net banking and UPI. You have to choose the date of the visit while booking tickets.
Those who want to buy the tickets at the counters can buy them since the facility is still available.
NRM also decided to install POS (point-of-sale) machines at the museum. Visitors to the museum can make digital payments for their tickets through these machines. For complete details, visit the website.

- Many visitors from across the country visit the museum. As per sources, nearly 5 lakh people visit the museum each year.
- The museum has a collection of ancient photographs and documents. Besides, you can also see railway artefacts and train models there.
- The indoor gallery has an exclusive collection of various types of signalling equipment, telecommunication systems, antique railway furniture etc.
- The outdoor gallery of the museum houses different types of steam, diesel, and electric locomotives. You can also find many railway wagons, carriages, and rail cars there. There is a rail garden. It has various models of trains passing through the country.
- The rail museum has many rare exhibits. Also, there are exciting rides and 3D simulators for your entertainment.
- The Rails restaurant serves unique food. The rail museum is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on all days except Monday.
