Lord Hanuman is worshipped as a female here

Lord Hanuman, an ardent devotee of Lord Rama, is worshipped by many people. He is considered one of the most revered deities. His devotees believe that he is immortal and exists even today in some form.

While Lord Hanuman is believed to be celibate and worshipped in the form of a male deity, there is one temple in India where Hanuman is worshipped as a female.

The temple is located in Girjabandh in the Ratanpur district of Chhattisgarh. Here Lord Hanuman appears in a female form.

According to legends, the temple was built by a king named Prithvi Devju. He was a devotee of the lord and used to worship Hanuman daily. He suffered from leprosy and prayed to the Lord to cure it.

Lord Hanuman then appeared in his dream and asked him to build a temple. The king started the construction.

Before the completion of the work, Hanuman again appeared in his dream and asked to visit the Mahamaya Kund in the neighbouring region. The king was told to find an idol there.

The king followed the instructions of the lord and visited the place. To his surprise, the idol was in a female form. He brought the idol and installed it in the temple. As soon as he started offering prayers to the lord, he was cured of his illness. The king thanked Lord Hanuman.

Since then, devotees have been worshipping the Lord as a female. Devotees believe those who visit the temple and worship the deity will be granted their wishes.

You can reach the temple by bus or cab. You can also reach Raipur by airway and take a cab directly to the place. The best time to visit this place is winter, from October to March, as Ratanpur is extremely hot during the summer.
