India is a land where different religions are found. Though it may seem that everyone is stringent towards their religion, it is not true and communal harmony is found in times of need.

Despite the opinions of some political leaders that try to divide people based on religion, many common people show religious and communal harmony.

Here is an instance that shows communal harmony where a Mosque hosted the wedding of a Hindu couple.

The incident took place in Kerala. The marriage followed Hindu traditions and practices. Anju and Ashokan united with marriage in the premises of Cheravally Muslim Jamath mosque.

Anju, the bride, lost her father two years ago. Since then, her family has been facing troubles financially.

When Anju’s mother Bindu was struggling to meet the expenses of her daughter, her neighbour who is the secretary of Jamath mosque suggested her to approach the mosque committee.

She approached the committee and they were willing to help her by providing the venue for the wedding.

They even decided to help with the wedding expenses.

The committee gifted 10 sovereigns of gold and cash of ₹2 lakh to the bride. The marriage took place as per Hindu rituals.

They also arranged food for 1,000 people.

Nujumudeen, the neighbour who helped for the marriage said that it was very nice to help the family.

He helped the family in the past also for the study of their younger child. But, since marriage involves higher expenses, he suggested the bride’s mother approach the committee of the mosque.

The committee decided to assist the family and the whole event was successful as planned. Guests who attended the marriage appreciated the committee members for showing communal harmony.
