Karnataka starts free drop service to women
Some states like Punjab and Telangana started free drop services to lonely women at night time.
After Punjab and Telangana, Karnataka also started free drop service to women during nights.
Now Karnataka also joined these states by starting a free drop service to women between 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
Any woman can call the Police during nights to get a free drop at their homes.
The Karnataka police yesterday started this service to prevent the attacks on women in the state.
Women can dial 100 or the toll-free helpline number if they are travelling alone at night and get help from the police to reach their destinations.
The Hyderabad Police recently launched started ‘Women on Wheels’ (WoW). In this initiative, women officers are deployed for patrolling. They also handle women related issues including pick up and drop services of women who need help in the night journey.
Earlier, on December 3, Punjab CM announced that the police would give free drop facility to women who are stuck in the late-night. This facility would be available between 9:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m.
Those want to get help from the police can dial 100, 112 and 181.
The entire nation was shocked by the tragic incident of Disha, a Hyderabadi veterinary doctor. After that, several states are taking steps to improve the safety and security of women.
Many people also demanded to hang the accused. However, lately, the Hyderabad police encountered the four accused when they had tried to flee and attacked the police in the duty.
For this encounter, the police received applauds also from all over the country except some people who did not welcome it.
