AIIMS CNC wing starts free drop service for patients
Many times, patients discharged from hospitals have difficulty finding an ambulance or vehicle to reach their homes. If any of their family members have cars or other vehicles, they will take them home in their vehicles. But those who do not own vehicles face transportation difficulties. But, the patients of AIIMS will not have such difficulty from now.
Patients discharged from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) can avail of free drop services. The facility is available to patients discharged from Cardio Neurosciences Centre wards.
The Cardio Neurosciences Centre of AIIMs started a free drop service. Patients from across Delhi will be dropped off at their residences after their discharge from the hospital.
That is, this facility is available for patients within the boundaries of the Union Territory of Delhi. Patients from other NCR regions will not be able to avail of this facility due to a lack of transportation.
This facility is not available to daycare patients and private ward patients. The service is available to patients on a first-come-first-serve basis. It is available on all weekdays except Sundays from 10 am to 6 pm.
It is not an ambulance service. So, it is not available for those who need to be seated in a recumbent. Only discharged patients can avail of the service. One attendant is allowed with the patient.
It is a free service. Hence, patients need not pay for it. They are not encouraged to pay any amount to the attendant or driver of the vehicle in any form. The standard operating procedure stated that patients should not give any tip to the attendant or the driver.
Patients can choose their drop while booking the service. They cannot change the drop location after they have chosen the drop location.
They can report on the given phone number if they have any grievances. The number is 011-26593322.
