Dudhala: The Village Set to Shine on 100% Solar Power

Dudhala: The Village Set to Shine on 100% Solar Power

A village becomes truly prosperous when development reaches every household and improves everyday life.

In Gujarat, Dudhala is moving towards that vision through an ambitious renewable energy initiative driven by one man’s deep connection with his roots.

Located in southern Gujarat, Dudhala is set to become a model of sustainable rural development.

Goldi Solar, in partnership with the Shree Ramkrishna Knowledge Foundation (SRKKF), has launched a 450 kW solar rooftop project to power the entire village.

The initiative will benefit around 350 households, along with public facilities such as anganwadis and the gram panchayat.

However, the significance of this project extends far beyond providing electricity. It aims to empower nearly 2,000 people by creating opportunities to earn through solar rooftop systems.

Rather than offering conventional financial assistance, the initiative seeks to build long-term economic independence through clean energy.

At the heart of this transformation is Govindbhai Dholakia, Founder-Chairman of Shree Ramkrishna Exports.

Dudhala is his native village, where he was born and spent his early childhood. His emotional connection with his homeland inspired him to create a village powered entirely by renewable energy.

Known for promoting sustainable practices through his diamond business, Dholakia wanted to extend the same green vision to his birthplace.

His ambition was to ensure that villagers benefit directly from clean energy while contributing to a sustainable future.

Under his mentorship, Goldi Solar has taken responsibility for implementing the project.

Its Managing Director, Ishver Dholakiya, described the initiative as an effort to improve rural livelihoods and support the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.

Moreover, SRKKF plans to strengthen Dudhala’s infrastructure beyond solar power. Its initiatives include free Wi-Fi, healthcare facilities, medical infrastructure and essential services.

The project could set an example for other Indian villages seeking sustainable development.

More importantly, it highlights how an individual’s gratitude towards his birthplace can inspire meaningful social change.

For Govindbhai Dholakia, Dudhala’s transformation is more than a development project. It is a way of giving back to the land that shaped his beginnings.
