Bharat Ke Veer is a fund-raising initiative for CRPF personnel. It was launched in April 2017 by the Union Home Ministry.
The contributions to Bharat Ke Veer by way of donations surpassed ₹7 crore within two days after Pulwama terror attack.
And interestingly, most of the contributions are made by the common public.
Amit Lodha, the BSF Inspector General (IG) revealed that they have received unprecedented donations on Bharat Ke Veer platform with over ₹7 crore in the last 36 hours.
The officials were astonished by the overwhelming response of the citizens as they never received such huge contributions since its launch in the last two years in such a short duration of time.
They thanked citizens for expressing their unity with martyrs.
Bharat Ke Veer portal has been getting 20,000 hits per second after the terror attack on CRPF personnel in Pulwama.
Due to constant surge of visitors, the website is slowing down and the ministry is working to find out technical solutions. Hence it requests people to have patience.
The Union Home Ministry urged the citizens to stop donating on any other platform except on this to support CRPF personnel.
The ministry asked people not to fall prey to the fraudulent websites that seek donations.
Those want to donate to the families of the CRPF martyrs should have to contribute only on the website of bharatkeveer.gov.in.
