A year after Pahalgam, resolve stands strong
Strength is often reflected not only in triumphs but also in how a nation remembers and endures loss.
Marking one year since the 2025 Pahalgam terror attack, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage to those who lost their lives and reiterated India’s firm stance against terrorism. I
In a message posted on X, he expressed solidarity with the bereaved families, acknowledging their continued grief.
He described the incident as a painful chapter that still lingers in the country’s collective memory. Furthermore, he emphasised that such acts of terror cannot shake the nation’s determination.
He reaffirmed that India remains united in both mourning and resolve. According to him, the lives lost in the attack will always be remembered, and the country will continue to stand strong against forces that seek to spread fear and disruption.
The attack took place on April 22, 2025, in Pahalgam, a popular tourist destination in south Kashmir.
On that day, terrorists from Pakistan targeted civilians, killing 26 people, most of them tourists. The incident shocked the nation and drew widespread condemnation.
However, India responded with decisive action. On May 7, 2025, the country launched a military operation aimed at dismantling terror infrastructure.
Several key sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir were targeted and destroyed. As a result, the move signalled a firm stance against cross-border terrorism.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister emphasised unity in grief and determination. He stated that India stands together in honouring the victims while continuing its fight against terror.
Furthermore, he underlined that the intentions of terrorists will never succeed in breaking the nation’s spirit.
This anniversary is not just about remembrance; it strengthens a shared resolve.
Although the pain endures, the message remains firm: unity and resilience will guide the nation’s response, ensuring that such tragedies are met with strength, solidarity, and determination.
