Ashok Leyland is the fourth largest bus maker in the entire world.

Now, the company is taking his operations to Mallavalli Model Industrial Park in Andhra Pradesh, which is 40 kilometers away from Vijayawada.

According to the company, Ahsok Leyland will produce its first bus in the next six months.

N. Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, has laid the foundation stone for the facility.

On this occasion, Vinod K. Dasari, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Ashok Leyland, spoke with the media.

Dasari said that the company will be developing its facility in a 75-acre plot in the first phase.

Dasari also said that they are investing about ₹170 crore in the new facility. This will be used to make 4,800 buses per year in the first phase.

In six months, the first bus will roll out, and in a year, the plant will reach its full capacity.

Dasari added that in the second phase, the capacity will be doubled in another 75 acres beside the plant.

Once it is completed, the Mallavalli plant will be the third bus-making plant of Ashok Leyland. The company’s other two facilities are in Alwar, Rajasthan, and Trichy, Tamil Nadu.

On the same occasion, Chief Minister Naidu said that Ashok Leyland will be followed by about 700 industrial units with investment.

The government of Andhra Pradesh was very helpful with facilitating the plant in record time.

According to the company, the entire facilitation process could be made possible in only four months.

The Mallavalli plant will make all kinds of buses, along with electrical vehicles, a pilot assembly line, and prototype development. Not only will this new Ashok Leyland facility make buses, but it will also provide a state-of-the-art learning and skill development center.

Ashok Leyland will not only use this Mallavalli plant to expand their operations, but to diversify their operations as well.
