You can book 24 train tickets a month now
To ease the ticket booking process and help passengers get more tickets, Indian Railways decided to increase the online ticket booking limit.
The Railways yesterday announced that it decided to increase the ticket booking limit and double it. So far, users who have not linked their Aadhaar number with their IRCTC account are allowed to book a maximum of 6 tickets from one user ID.
Now, they can book 12 tickets as per the revised limit. This limit is given per month. That means passengers can book up to 12 tickets from one user ID in a month.
However, passengers who linked their Aadhaar to their user IDs can book up to 24 tickets in a month. Earlier, it was 12 tickets in a month.
Users can link their Aadhaar number with their IRCTC accounts using the following steps:
- Visit the website of IRCTC and log in to your account.
- You can find ‘Link Your Aadhaar’ under the My Account option on the home page.
- Enter your details like name, Aadhaar number, virtual ID etc.
- Then click on the Send OTP option.
- An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number.
- Enter the OTP and verify it.
The process of linking your Aadhaar number with your IRCTC account will be finished. That means your KYC with the IRCTC is finished. You will receive a confirmation link on the screen after the completion of the process.
Now log out from the website. If you want to book the tickets, log in to the IRCTC website again.
If you have linked your Aadhaar number with your IRCTC account, you can book up to 24 tickets in a month on the website.
Thus, Railways wants to ease the online ticket booking process and convenience of users. They can book tickets simply from their home with just a click.
