Niti Aayog proposes 30% hike | Fusion - WeRIndia

In order to entice talent, Niti Aayog has proposed 30 per cent hike on the pay scale provided by the former Planning Commission. This hike is applicable on the payrolls of young professionals.

NITI (National Institution for Transforming India) Aayog is a think-tank of Government of India which replaces the earlier Planning Commission. Niti Aayog is one of the most aspiring projects of the central government. It aims to restore power and economic policymaking procedures in India.

Niti Aayog has now provided salaries to talented professionals ranging from Rs.40,000-70,000 each month, in addition to an yearly increment of more than 30 per cent. This equals to Rs.5,000 in the monthly pay.

Furthermore, age limit has reduced to 32 years by Niti Aayog, when compared 40 years suggested by the former Planning Commission.

The idea of hiring young professionals was launched in 2009 at the Planning Commission by its then Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia. Several changes have been made to the hiring policy to attract the talent of youth.

Niti Aayog has initiated the recruitment process by hiring 20 fresh experts. The number of professionals hired by the Planning Commission would be 60 at once.

Niti Aayog is also searching for a Chief Economist for conducting research on the economic policy issues of India and maintain relations with other institutions.
