Why Janata Parivar is irrelevant
Janata Parivar merger’s model under the leadership of Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Mulayam Singh Yadav is not likely succeed in this year 2015. Here are some reasons why.
Ageing leaders
Many leader of the Janata Parivar like Lalu Prasad, Mulayam Singh Yadav and Nitish Kumar are not exactly getting into their youths to call for a new political experimentation and challenge those that are in power.
Loss of credibility
The leaders of this parivar have once emerged as followers of the force which challenged the authority of Indira Gandhi. However their brand of politics have become identical with fragile governance and little development.
Decline of the Congress
Even though the Janata Parties have stood on the fall of the congress for their political benefits, they have eventually joined hands with the same congress in order to get close to power.
Loss of face as regional players
Many partiles like SP, JD(U), RJD, JD(S) and INLD have observed a steep decline in the past even as regional players. They performed poorly even in their respective home states in the Lok Sabha election.
Janata parties have little to offer new
In Haryana, the INLD couldn’t win and the SP is facing a serious anti-incumbency mood in Uttar Pradesh with almost two years to go for next polls. Even the other parties are facing similar problems.
