IndiGo resumes onboard meals service
Good news to domestic airline passengers, as the government eased restrictions on inflight meal services.
Due to the pandemic, the government restricted inflight meal services on domestic flights that travel less than two hours. Hence, many airline carriers suspended inflight meals for flight journeys with a duration of lesser than two hours.
Now, the Civil Aviation Ministry allowed airlines to resume inflight meal services on all domestic flights. It issued an order on this matter saying that domestic flights can provide meal service onboard irrespective of the duration.
In this context, low-cost carrier IndiGo decided to resume onboard meal services from November 19.
The order of the ministry also said that both domestic and international airlines can provide magazines and other reading material to passengers. The ministry said that these relaxations were given after consulting with the ministry of health and family welfare. The ministry considered the COVID situation and vaccine status in the country before easing restrictions.
As the government eased restrictions and allowed meal service on board, IndiGo decided to resume the meal service to passengers. It assures delicious and hygienic food and beverages to them.
From tomorrow, passengers of IndiGo can buy food onboard. They can also pre-book their desired food. To pre-book the meal, customers can visit the website of IndiGo and choose the food menu in the add on services.
The airline hopes the resumption will help people travelling with children and senior citizens.
The inflight menu of the IndiGo includes 6E snacks that are popular among customers. Some of them are paneer tikka sandwich, chicken tikka sandwich, chicken cucumber tomato sandwich, chicken junglee sandwich, veg trio sandwich, baked pita with two dips, sesame chicken rice noodle salad, chocolate chip cookies etc.
