Indians paying tribute to Dr Abdul Kalam
Indians are paying a tribute to the demised leader, people’s President, the Missile Man of India Dr APJ Abdul Kalam today on his birth anniversary. Dr Kalam, great scientist born on October 15, 1931 departed on July 27, 2015. His contributions to science and technology are remarkable and unforgettable by people.
Several citizens are paying tribute to mark his birth anniversary. The renowned sand artist, Sudarsan Pattnaik created a great sand sculpture of Dr Abdul Kalam to mark the event of his birth anniversary on Puri beach.
Several political leaders are also paying homage to the great leader. Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi is going to launch the statue of Dr Kalam at DRDO Head Quarters in Delhi.
The missile complex in Hyderabad is going to be renamed today as Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Missile Complex since Dr Kalam was part of this Complex for over two decades.
Suresh Babu, who was the aide of Dr Kalam in Anna University has decided to start an NGO ‘Naalaya I.N.D.I.A’ which means ‘Tomorrow’s India’ today. The main aim of this NGO is to inspire young minds and bring them together to change the society and make a developed country.
Many school children are also paying tribute to the great leader. Schools are conducting essay competitions too. CBSE is conducting an expression series throughout the country.
In this series, student from class I to XII can participate in any or all of the essay, poem and drawing competition on the given three topics: ”Dr APJ Abdul Kalam’s school days and how it influenced me‘; ‘Dr APJ Abdul Kalam: the father of India’s Missile Programme’; and ‘I dream for India to be…’
