Indian Railways opens First Saloon Coach
Indian Railways recently launched first railway saloon coach for public.
The pictures were shared today on Twitter by the Ministry of Railways.
The luxury coach, which is called a ‘moving house’ by the Railways is equipped with superior quality amenities.
The train started its maiden journey yesterday from old Delhi railway station to Katra in Jammu.
The coach appears beautiful with two exclusive bedrooms and an attached bath room, in addition to a large living cum dining room and kitchenette.
Furthermore, a rear window is there for a glimpse of spectacular views.
So far, the train is only available for top railway officials. Now, it has been opened to public by attaching the coach to Jammu train.
So, now the journey is available to common people as well.
Though the cost of journey in the coach is expensive, it seems to give a memorable experience as it provides all the facilities which are similar to a hotel.
The coach has two air-conditioned bedrooms with attached bathroom.
The privately-occupied saloon coach even has valet service.
It is a journey of four days. The journey was started on March 30 and it will end on April 2.
Anyone can charter this saloon coach for which they need to pay ₹2 lakh.
Indian Railways has 336 saloon coaches. Out of them, 62 coaches are air-conditioned.
Attendant services will also be provided in these coaches for a peaceful journey to the passengers.
Two attendants, one is AC attendant and another one is saloon attendant are there to help the passengers of the coach.
Travelling in this coach is suitable for private parties or meetings with small group and also with family members.
It is an ideal spot for couples to spend time and help them make good memories.
