Hyderabad Police encounter rape accused

The four men who were accused of rape and murder in Disha case had been encountered by the Hyderabad police yesterday morning.

After the incident, Cyberabad Police Commissioner VC Sajjanar addressed the media and said that the law had done its duty.

The accused were taken into the police custody after the interrogation during December 4 and 5.

They were brought to the crime spot as part of the investigation. At that time, they attacked the police with stones and sticks. They even started firing on the police officials after snatching their weapons.


Despite the warning of the police to surrender, rapists tried to escape. Hence, the police started firing and killed the accused.

The encounter took place between 5:45 a.m. to 6:15 a.m. yesterday. At the time of the encounter, there were nearly 10 police and two had been injured in the attack of the accused.

The injured police had been shifted to the hospital for the treatment.

After the spreading of encounter news, several people visited the spot and praised the police. They showered flower petals to the police and distributed sweets to them.

They raised slogans in favor of the police saying “Telangana Police Zindabad”.

Some expressed their happiness by bursting firecrackers near the encounter spot and in other parts of the city.

Girls in several colleges danced with joy and the youth expressed their happiness with ‘Teenmaar Dance’.

Many political leaders and celebrities also welcomed the action of the police with their positive comments.

However, some people expressed their concern over the interference of the police in the law.

Meanwhile, the Telangana High Court directed the state government to preserve the bodies till 8:00 p.m. on Monday, i.e. December 9.

The court also ordered submission of proof of post mortem including video, CD and pen drive to the district court judge.
