HTC set to launch wearable device in India

HTC, the Taiwan based handset maker is all set to release wearable devices in India by the end of this year. The device, known as grip, will be released first in US and then later in India. It is a fitness device made for easy usage during workouts.

Aside from launching wearable devices, HTC is also set to launch a virtual reality product called the Vive for the US market. This will be released in partnership with Valve, an entertainment software technology company.

The fitness product Grip, is a GPS enabled fitness tracker which is the first product that HTC is launching with partnership of US based Under Armour. The device is helpful in keeping track of runs and other workouts said Faisal Siddiqui, president, South Asia, HTC.

The virtual reality gaming product is likely to be launched by the end of 2015 for the US market. The company has still not decided about the Indian launch.


Siddiqui has stated that the gaming product is a product with many uses like healthcare, retail and education. It can bring a change into travelling, gaming, and almost just about everything. It has a full room scale 360 degree solution which lets the user explore and interact with virtual space.
