Bharat Bandh Today | Fusion - WeRIndia

A bandh call has been made by central trade union and India will be facing a nation-wide strike today. The bandh is being done by trade unions as a protest against NDA government’s proposed Bills amending labour laws, the Contract Act, the Electricity Act and Factory Act.

The transport unions in the country are also protesting over the proposed Road Transport and Safety Bill. It seems that the public sector banks and government-owned non-life insurance companies’ employees are also supporting the bandh.

As a result of this Bharat Bandh, many private schools, colleges declared holiday today. The government educational institutions might declare holiday. The shops and market will be closed for the bandh. Furthermore, even Public sector banks and government-owned non-life insurance companies also will be closed.

The entities which will be open despite of the bandh are Hospitals and medical shops will be open. Furthermore, many government offices will be open too. The West Bengal government led by Mamata Banerjee has issued strict guidance regarding the attendance of government employees to their offices on September 2. Other companies that wanted its employees to attend include IT companies and other private companies in Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi and cities across the country.
