Ahmedabad-Mumbai Tejas Express flagged off
Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani flagged off Tejas Express from Ahmedabad yesterday. This Ahmedabad-Mumbai Express will be operated by railway subsidiary IRCTC.
Tejas Express will start operations from January 19, 2020. It is the second private train; the first train is Lucknow-Delhi Tejas Express which has been operating since last year.
Passengers cannot book tickets for this train at the railway reservation counter. They can only be booked online on the website of IRCTC.
Apart from that, tickets can also be booked through Paytm, Ixigo, PhonePe, Google, Railyatri, Make My Trip, Ibibo etc.
There will be no concession on the tickets in these trains. Except for children below 5 years of age, everyone will be charged full fare. Only children under 5 years have been exempted from the fare and they will be allowed to book along with their parents. Hence, the names of these children will not be on the chart.
There is no tatkal quota in this train. Only General Quota and Foreign Tourist Quota are available. 6 seats in the executive class and 12 seats in chair car will be available for Foreign Tourists under Foreign Tourist Quota.
The Tejas Express will ply on the Ahmedabad-Mumbai-Ahmedabad route six days a week. It will not ply on Thursdays due to maintenance.
The train has two executive class chair cars and eight chair cars. Each executive class has 56 seats while each chair car has 78 seats.
Thus, 82902/82901 Tejas Express will have a capacity of 736 passengers. It starts its journey at 6:40 hours at Ahmedabad and reaches Mumbai Central at 13.10 hours.
It will start at 15:40 hours at Mumbai Central and reach Ahmedabad at 21:55 hours. The scheduled commercial halts are Nadiad, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Vapi and Borivali.
