Surprising uses for Aspirin

Aspirin is an anti-inflammatory drug. It is commonly used for pain, aches, inflammation and fever. It is also used as a blood thinner.

Apart from its medicinal uses, aspirin has many other uses. Aspirin contains salicylic acid, so it works like acetic acid to remove stains.

Though some people may know the household uses of aspirin, many people may not be aware of them. From removing rust to tough stains, aspirin has many uses.

Here is a list of some surprising uses for aspirin:


  • Crush some aspirin tablets to make a fine powder. Rub it onto the area where you find rust. Wait for 10 minutes and clean it off.
  • Aspirin removes sweat stains from clothes. Mix two to three crushed tablets in ½ cup warm water to make a paste. Apply the paste to the stain and wait for two hours. Alternatively, you can make a solution and soak the clothes in it and wait for two to three hours. After that wash it with detergent powder and rinse.
  • You can also treat callouses on your feet with a mixture of crushed aspirin tablets, lemon juice and water. Apply this to your feet and wash it off after 10 minutes.
  • Make a mixture with some crushed aspirin tablets, water and apple cider vinegar. Apply the paste to the pimples with a cotton swab and wait for 15 minutes before washing it off.
  • Aspirin also helps control dandruff. Take some amount of shampoo and add the powder of aspirin tablets to it. Apply this mixture to your hair evenly and wait for two minutes. Rinse your hair. Then wash your hair with plain shampoo.
  • You can get rid of warts with aspirin. Apply the paste made with a mixture of crushed aspirin tablets and water on warts. Cover it with a bandage overnight. Cover it with a bandage overnight and remove it the next day. Continue the process till you get the desired results.
