Rehydrating foods for winter
Though many people think that they would not get dehydrated in cold months like January and February, it is not true.
Sweat evaporates in these months and due to dry air, dehydration can be occurred.
Here are some rehydrating foods for winter months:
- Watermelon is one of the best rehydrating foods. It contains 92 per cent of the water. You can add it to your salads or snacks. You can eat the pieces or drink the juice.
- Strawberry is another rehydrating food with 91 per cent of water content. You can add it to your salads or make smoothies with it. Regular consumption of strawberries helps lower inflammation.
- Star fruit contains 91 per cent of water. It is rich in antioxidants, especially epicatechin to keep your heart healthy.
- Cantaloupe contains 90 per cent of water and vitamins like A and C. Make a salad with it.
- Peach has 89 per cent of water content. You can make smoothies with it or add it to salads.
- Being rich in vitamin C, orange has 88 per cent of water. It is a good rehydrating food.
- Grapefruit is enriched with various nutrients and 88 per cent water. Consume the fruit to get rehydrated.
- Cucumbers contain 97 per cent of water. They are rich in vitamin C to promote immunity.
- With 95 per cent of water, tomato is an excellent food to add to your salads or sandwiches.
- Celery contains 95 per cent of water. It is loaded with minerals and vitamins.
- With 95 per cent of water, Zucchini is loaded with vitamins A and C, and potassium.
- Bell peppers including red, yellow and green contain 94 per cent of water. They are packed with vitamins B and C, and beta-carotene.
- Cauliflower contains 92 per cent of water. 100 grams of cauliflower can provide more than 60 ml of water.
- Spinach has 91 per cent water content. It is loaded with vitamins, lutein, and potassium etc.
