You are hurting your brain unknowingly!
A good diet is not completely centered around body fat and musculature. Food also has a significant effect on the workings of the brain, and not all food has positive effects on it.
Most of these foods include certain types of carbohydrates and certain sugars, which can be linked to fatigue, swings in one’s mood, and various forms of depression.
One should either stay absolutely clear of foods such as these, or else only eat a safe amount for the well-being of one’s brain.
Therefore, here are some foods that can harm the brain from which one must absolutely stay away:
•Tofu contains phytoestrogens that can affect the brain negatively, as certain studies have linked the consumption of it with loss of memory and impairments of cognition. Stay away from eating tofu as much as possible, or at least only consume it in small portions.
•Not only are high levels of sodium-rich foods harmful to one’s physical state and connected to low physical activity, but high-sodium foods also have a negative impact on the workings of the brain. However, regular physical exercise can, in fact, counter these negative effects.
•Foods with a high content of Trans fat are said to be very harmful to one’s memory. It is said that high consumptions of Trans fats gradually impair one’s remembering abilities when eaten daily. However, luckily, awareness has gotten around in recent years about the various harmful effects of Trans fat, and it is much less common than it used to be.
•Tuna is said to have varying negative effects on cognitive function, and it is only safe to consume servings of it three times per week.
•The overconsumption of saturated fats is said to impair the working of the brain’s mesolimbic dopamine system. This controls one’s motivation and overall well-being. Avoid foods high in saturated fats as much as possible.
