Rose hip or rose hep or rose haw is the fruit of a wild rose plant. Its color ranges from orange to purplish black. It grows from late summer to autumn.

This fruit is widely used in traditional Chinese medicine to improve the function of kidneys.

Rose hip is taken as a tea or a supplement. Rose hip essential oil is used for aromatherapy.

Rose hip has many health benefits.

  • Rose hip helps prevent heart problems by improving systolic blood pressure and reducing bad cholesterol levels.
  • It aids lower abdominal fat and abdominal visceral fat. It helps people who want to lose their weight by regulating their body mass index.
  • One study revealed that rose hip powder reduced the accumulation of fat in the liver. It also normalized blood sugar levels. Hence consuming rose hip controls diabetes.
  • Being rich in vitamin C, this fruit improves immunity.
