It has several health benefits which are mentioned as below:

  • Nutmeg has many essential oils like eugenol, myristicin, elemicin etc. These oils have anti-inflammatory properties to treat swelling, joint and muscle pain.
  • The antioxidants in nutmeg such as cyanidin and phenolic compounds contain anti-inflammatory properties. They can reduce inflammation and thereby other serious health conditions like heart problems caused by chronic inflammation.
  • Its antioxidants help reduce oxidative stress and thereby control cancers, neurodegenerative diseases etc. It stimulates nerves in the brain and helps treat depression.
