IPPB launches doorstep bill payments service
To help customers with their bill payments, India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) initiated a new service. It tied up with the National Payments Corporation of India’s (NPCI) to launch the doorstep bill payments service.
With this, customers can pay their bills at their convenience on the Bharat BillPay platform. Both IPPB and non-IPPB customers can utilize the service.
Many people in rural and remote areas do not have access to payment solutions. Hence this service has been launched. The main aim of this service is to provide access to payment solutions to people in remote areas at their doorsteps.
These people can easily make payments for their mobile bills, school fees, D2H recharge and utility services using IPPB’s mobile banking service.
India Post has a wide network of staff. IPPB’s new service enables citizens to pay their bills at their doorsteps with its extensive network. Gramin Dak Sevaks and Postal Staff collect these bill payments.
Customers can also pay their bills personally at their nearest post office. IPPB has tied up with NPCI for the bill payment service on the Bharat BillPay platform.
Bharat BillPay platform has multiple modes of payments like internet banking, mobile banking, mobile wallets, ATMs etc. It provides instant confirmation of payment through an SMS to customers.
Using this platform, customers can pay bills for various categories like electricity, gas, water bills etc. More product features have been added to the platform, and many user interface-related improvements have been made for the doorstep bill payments service.
With this, more than 20,000 billers will be available on the Bharat BillPay platform to customers of different banks.
Now, the cash mode option has also been included for recurring bills. Also, many security enhancement features have been added. Customers can set transaction alerts for their bill payments and reminders for the next payment. The on-screen user experience also has been improved.
