Under the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, the Government of India has introduced the PM Young Achievers Scholarship Award Scheme for Vibrant India (YASASVI).

This scheme aims to provide scholarships to eligible candidates from underprivileged backgrounds. These include OBC, EBC, and De-Notified, Nomadic & Semi-Nomadic Tribes (DNT/S-NT) categories.

The scholarships are awarded to students studying in Class IX and Class XI in identified top schools in the country. However, their parents’ or guardians’ annual income does not exceed ₹2.5 lakhs.

To select candidates for these scholarships, an entrance test will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).

This written test will assess the eligibility of students studying in Class IX and Class XI belonging to the above categories, with an annual income limit of ₹2.5 lakhs.

The exam will be conducted on 29th September 2023 through Pen and Paper mode (OMR based). It will comprise 100 multiple-choice questions.

The duration of the exam will be 2½ hours. Candidates can choose to attempt the exam in either English or Hindi.

Applicants are not required to pay any exam fee, and they can apply for the test online on the website from 11th July 2023 to 10th August 2023.

All relevant information, including the exam’s syllabus, eligibility criteria, list of identified schools, exam cities, and important dates, can be found in the Information Bulletin available on the website.

Candidates interested in appearing for the YASASVI entrance test should carefully read the detailed Information Bulletin before submitting their applications. Their applications must be submitted online only at the website within the specified dates.

For updates regarding the exam, candidates are advised to stay connected with the NTA website.

In case of any queries or clarifications, candidates can reach out to the NTA Help Desk at the given numbers. Or they can write to NTA for assistance.

This scholarship scheme and the NTA-conducted entrance test are crucial steps towards promoting education and providing opportunities for deserving students from disadvantaged backgrounds.

It not only offers financial support but also encourages academic excellence among students belonging to OBC, EBC, and DNT categories. Also, it enables them to study in top schools across India and secure a better future.
