Pro Kabaddi League begins today
The season 2 of Star Sports Pro Kabaddi League is set to see increased Squad strength of the eight franchise outfits. The new season will begin on July 18 i.e. today. The fact that the team strength has been increased considerably was declared at the trophy launch on July 16.
In the inaugural edition last year, the squad strength of the teams was 14. In the second season it has been increased to 25. This move has been done to permit teams’ bigger freedom to not solely field natives and young talent.
Furthermore, this is likely to make sure that teams are not adversely full of injuries. The trophy unveiling ceremony was done in the presence of the eight teams’ representatives and their respective captains. The first season saw Jaipur Pink Panthers win the trophy by defeating Mumbai’s U Mumba in the summit contest. These two teams will start the season 2 at the NSCI stadium on Saturday.
The opposite six groups that participated in season one are seen in season two too. Bengaluru Bulls, Patna Pirates, Telugu Titans, Puneri Paltan, Dabang Delhi and Bengal Warriors are the other teams in the season.
There is a strong aim improve the growth of the game in its markets. In order to reach broader audience, the game will be broadcasted in five languages – Kannada, Telugu and Marathi besides English and Hindi, across eight channels of the Star network.
