Each year flower shows are organized at the Lalbagh Botanical Garden, Bengaluru on Independence Day and Republic Day. The Department of Horticulture and Mysore Horticulture Society jointly organize this event.

The upcoming Independence Day flower show is the 202nd flower show. More than 200 varieties of flowers and 20,000 pots are used for decoration. It is expected that over 500,000 visitors are going to visit this renowned flower show.

The flower show is open for 10 days from August 7 to August 16, 2015. The show will be launched by Pramoda Devi Wadiyar. The main attraction of this show is the replica of the Bangalore Palace. It is made using 200,000 Dutch roses, in addition to the 5 Maharajas of Mysuru created using flowers. Approximately 250 farmers from Karnataka will exhibit rare and unique farm produce. Around Rs 1.2 core is spent on this edition of Lalbagh flower show.

There is an entry fee of Rs.50 for adults on holidays. It is Rs.40 in the remaining days. For children the entry fee is Rs.10. Tickets can be bought online. Visitors are allowed for the show between 9 am to 6 pm. Pedestrians can enter the flower show from all the four gates. However, those who visit on vehicles should enter though the specified gates due to security reasons.
