According to officials, there have been demands from a section of viewers who wanted a news program in Sanskrit. Since, DD News is the public broadcaster; it wants to cater to this demand from the viewers and is set to launch the program to attract the particular section of viewers.
Currently, there is a five minute Sanskrit news bulletin titled ‘Vartha’. The special bulletin is telecasted every day at 6:55pm. However, the decision was made that the five minute bulletin was not enough. Hence, the 30 minute program was authorized.
