WhatsApp’s new update related to Last Seen Status
WhatsApp, the Facebook-owned social media messaging platform has been making efforts to bring new features for their users. It also wants to update some of the existing features. One such update is related to the ‘Last Seen’ status.
As per available information, WhatsApp will allow users to hide their last seen status from select contacts soon.
The last seen status of WhatsApp gives information about a person’s last available time on the messaging platform. In other words, one can know when a user was lastly available on WhatsApp with the help of the last seen status.
If anybody does not want to reveal the information, they can hide it. At present, if a user wants to hide the last seen status, he/she has to choose from the given three options. These three options are, Everyone, Nobody and My Contacts.
If you choose the Nobody option, your last seen status is not visible to anybody. If a user chooses this option, he/she won’t be able to see the last seen status of others as well.
If you choose Everybody, it is visible to everyone even though the person is not on your contact list.
If you choose My Contacts, only your contacts can see the last seen status on WhatsApp.
At present, there is no option to stop some of your contacts from seeing your last seen status. But, the upcoming feature will allow users to hide their last seen status from select contacts. The update will give an option, ‘My Contacts Except’ to users so that they can select the contacts with whom they don’t want to share their last seen status.
Besides, users will also be able to hide their profile photos from select contacts. The process is the same as for the last seen status.
