Meet the world’s youngest author
Now many whiz kids astonish the world with their amazing talents. This little girl grabbed the attention of the world with her writing skills.
Abhijita Gupta, a seven-year-old girl from Gurgaon, has been recognized as the world’s youngest author by the International Book of Records. The Asia Book of Records has conferred on her title of the Grandmaster in Writing.
Abhijita is the granddaughter of the poet duo Rashtrakavi Maithilisharan Gupt and Santkavi Shri Siyaramsharan Gupt. She started writing when she was five years old. Her parents and grandparents were surprised when she asked for a notebook and pencil to write a story after she learned a few three and four-lettered words.
Abhijita’s mother says that she had written the entire story with hardly any spelling mistakes to their surprise. Understanding her capability, they encouraged her to write more. Her first poem, A Sunny Day and first story, The Elephants Advice have also been included in the published book.
Abhijita is studying class 2. She wrote a book, ‘Happiness All Around’ during the nationwide lockdown and her parents helped her publishing the book. The book is a collection of poems and short stories with illustrations. The theme of her stories and poems involve nature, friends, parents, grandparents.
This child prodigy lives in Ghaziabad along with her parents. Her father is a chartered accountant and mother is an engineer turned entrepreneur.
Abhijita’s parents developed reading habit since her childhood by providing books to her. The reading habit created an interest in writing. Her teachers also appreciate her quick learning skills and high IQ.
Now, Abhijita wants to write another book. This time she would like to focus on COVID-19 and its impact on children.
