Bengaluru’s smart car parking app
Since society is getting more and more industrialized and urbanized day by day, more people are roaming the crowded cities in their vehicles, going around to various destinations. Therefore, city parking spots are in ever high demand.
Soon, in Bengaluru, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (or BBMP) will be releasing an innovation that will help make the search for a parking spot much more convenient: Smart Parking systems.
These systems will allow their parking spots to be seen through a user’s smartphone, as well as which spots are taken and which spots are available. They will even allow the user to find a parking system or an empty spot if needed.
There will be several options to the Smart Parking systems, all of which can be accessed through an app that will be released alongside the systems by the BBMP. The app will allow people to be able to find a parking system most convenient to them.
It will also allow them to find an open parking spot, and even book the spot in advance through the phone app. Also, there will be an automatic ticket vending machine placed at each parking spot.
People will have to drop their ticket in these vending machines, which will then calculate the duration of time in which the vehicle is parked at that spot. It will then accordingly charge any fees or penalties, which can be paid using cash, credit cards, or debit cards.
As per the Bangalore Mirror, these facilities will be put in eighty-five places. The automatic vending machines will be implemented alongside electronic sensors, which can accurately sense the entry and exit of a vehicle.
There will also be CCTV (Closed-Circuit Television) cameras placed, which can record any illegal activity.
It will cover about nine thousand vehicles, three thousand cars and six thousand bikes, therefore allowing thousands to access this new and convenient parking innovation.
