What did people search in 2016?
2016 is almost at the end. The year has been a huge roller coaster in terms of trends.
Many big things happened all over the world and in India as well.
But what are the biggest trends of all this year? Read on to find out.
Google released the most popular trends of 2016 and what people searched for the most in this year.
Globally, the US elections have the number one position in terms of news.
Even the Olympics this year took a second spot to it.
This is probably because of the controversial views on both top contenders for US presidency.
In terms of searches, globally Pokemon Go, the augmented reality app took number one spot with iPhone 7 following it.
In India, the highest searched news was the Rio 2016 Olympics which was also the highest searched term. Movies like Sultan and Kabali were also among top searches from India. The news regarding the seventh pay commission was also searched a lot in India.
The EURO 2016 cup was also searched a lot in India. It was the third most searched term this year.
Even in India, Donald Trump was the highest searched person. He was followed by P.V.Sindhu who won a silver medal in the Rio Olympics. Sonam Gupta, Dipa Karmakar, Disha Patani took the next three spots in most searched people in India. Movies like Deadpool, Suicide Squad, and The Revenant were the top three searched movies across the world. TV shows like Stranger Things, Westworld and Luke cage took the top three spots in searches.
People like Donald Trump, Melanie Trump, Hilary Clinton, and Fidel Castro were heavily searched for in this year. The elections in the US played a huge part for all the world.
Overall, 2016 has been a very eventful year including both good and bad.
