This Indian city has the highest average salary
When we think about high-paying jobs and hefty salaries, cities like Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru often come to mind.
These metropolitan areas are often considered the go-to places in India for lucrative career opportunities and impressive pay packages.
However, the reality might surprise you! None of these renowned cities actually claim the top spot for offering the highest salaries in the country.
In a surprising turn of events, Solapur takes the lead as the city with the highest average annual salaries in India.
According to a report by Average Salary Survey, Solapur boasts an impressive average income of ₹28,10,092 per year.
What’s even more astonishing is that Solapur surpasses not only other major cities in Maharashtra, such as Mumbai and Pune, but also cities from different states.
It’s worth noting, though, that only two participants from Solapur took part in this survey.
According to the same Average Salary Survey report, Mumbai secures the second position in the ranking, with an average income of ₹21,17,870 per year.
A total of 1,748 respondents from Mumbai participated in the survey. Bengaluru claims the third spot, with an average annual salary of ₹21,01,388.
Delhi also makes the list, coming in at the fourth position with an average annual income of ₹20,43,703.
Here are some key details from the survey report:
- The Average Salary Survey reveals that the average annual salary in India stands at ₹18,91,085.
- The most common earning range reported is ₹5,76,851.
- There exists a significant gender pay disparity, with men earning an average salary of ₹19,53,055, while women earn an average of ₹15,16,296. This highlights the persisting wage gap between genders.
- The report identifies the field of Management and Business as the most lucrative, with an average income of ₹29,50,185.
- The legal profession takes the second spot in terms of high-paying jobs, with an average salary of ₹27,02,962.
These findings shed light on the current salary landscape in India.
Popular cities like Mumbai, Delhi, and Bengaluru are still highly sought after for career opportunities. However, it’s essential to recognize that other cities like Solapur can offer impressive earning potential.
The survey report also underscores the concerning gender pay disparity that persists in the country.
