Young skating prodigy sets her sights on 2028 Olympics | Fusion - WeRIndia

P Chaitra Deepika has already made a name for herself in artistic skating, winning three medals at the 2nd India Skate Games 2024 in Pollachi, Tamil Nadu, at the age of 14.

Her remarkable achievements in Solo Dance, Free Skating, and Quartet events have fueled her ambition to compete in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.

Chaitra was born in Visakhapatnam to PR Satish and P Lalitha Devi and has been living in Vijayawada since 2018.

She is currently a Class IX student at N St Mathew’s Public School, consistently ranking among the top students.

Her father, a superintendent at RGUKT—Nuzvid, and her mother, a homemaker, are incredibly proud of her accomplishments. The proud parents say they will continue to support their daughter in every step.

Chaitra’s journey in skating began when she was just five years old. She drew inspiration from Panchada Satyanarayana, affectionately known as Satyam, who is a renowned coach for the Indian artistic skating team. Under his mentorship at the Shivaji Park Skating Rink in Visakhapatnam, Chaitra honed her skills and entered the national scene by the age of 11.

Since 2018, Chaitra has accumulated 37 medals in various competitions held in India and China.

One of her standout accomplishments includes winning a gold medal in pair skating at the 19th Asian Roller Skating Championship in Beijing, China, in 2023.

Chaitra is determined to keep representing India on the global stage. Her dream is to win a medal at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.

Chaitra’s recent success has attracted widespread attention, with congratulations pouring in from prominent figures.

With her family’s unwavering support and her coach’s guidance, Chaitra Deepika is well on her way to achieving her Olympic aspirations and continuing to shine in the world of artistic skating.
