Uthara Unnikrishnan - The Best Female Singer Awardee | Fusion - WeRIndia

Uthra Unnikrishnan, the daughter of renowned singer Unnikrishnan won the national award. She was chosen as the best female singer at the 62 National Film Awards 2015, for her debut song ‘Azhagu’ in the movie Saivam. Her father also won the national award in 1994 for his debut film song “Ennavale Adi Ennavale”.

The film Saivam was directed by Vijay. Baby Sarah and Nasser played the lead roles. The music composer is GV Prakash and the lyricist is Muthukumar. Uthara, the class 5 student has received applause from many people throughout the country for winning this award.

Uthara lives in Chennai. This ten year old girl is learning classical music from Sudha Raja. She practices music for at least 2 hours a day. So far, she had sung songs in four movies. She likes signing a song while her brother is playing piano. She wants to be like her father in future.
