In the symphony of life, destiny often dances to its own unique rhythm. Kasinadhan GA, a 17-year-old prodigy from Kottarakkara, has proven that even when facing formidable challenges, the beat of determination can conquer adversity.

Diagnosed with a 50% cognitive impairment, Kasinadhan has defied the odds to carve a purposeful path for himself, showcasing extraordinary musical talent at a tender age.

Kasinadhan’s musical journey began during his school years. He demonstrated exceptional prowess at that time.

In both 2019 and 2022, he claimed top honours at the State Special School Kalolsavam in the musical instrument category. However, his journey did not conclude there.

In 2022, he received an award, which is a testament to his outstanding achievements.

Despite grappling with challenges that affected his speaking and writing skills due to his disability, Kasinadhan’s younger sister emerged as his chief motivator.

She played a pivotal role in nurturing his dream of becoming a drummer. Kasinadhan recounts how his family, particularly his sister and father, supported and guided him through his initial drumming classes and during competitive events.

His impressive journey includes securing an A grade along with the first prize at the 2019 Kalolsavam, a feat he repeated in 2022.

In 2019, he took a bold step by establishing his own band, Inborn, and went on to perform in his native village and as far as Chennai. Remarkably, he had no formal training in music; it was his innate talent and unwavering determination that fueled his musical journey.

Kasinadhan’s father, Girish Kumar, recognized his son’s extraordinary percussion skills early on and sought guidance from professional mentors.

Inspired by performances on TV and YouTube channels, Kasinadhan showed a deep interest in playing the drums and various other percussion instruments, including the dholak.

With the support of professional musicians and sponsors, he transformed his passion into a thriving musical journey.

Shaji Raj, a drummer from Kollam who specializes in teaching special children, praised Kasinadhan’s exceptional talent.

He noted that Kasinadhan’s determination and passion enabled him to transcend his limitations.

As his teacher, Shaji Raj’s role is to guide him, but he attributes Kasinadhan’s success to his remarkable talent and unwavering spirit.
