Success story of a peon mother
The day of retirement is memorable to each and every one, but it is ‘successful’ to only some people that achieved success in their lives. The success not always lies in the success of one’s own self, but his/her children’s success as well.
Sumitra Devi a 60-year old peon retired recently at Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) Township, Jharkhand. It is very special to her because of her success as a mother to well-settled sons. Her three sons are: Dhirendra Kumar – doctor, Mahendra Kumar – district collector of Siwan and Virendra Kumar – railway engineer.
She raised her sons despite having many hardships in her life. She worked in CCL for around 30 years where she started as a cleaner.
Sumitra did not want to retire in the middle even the after the settlement of her sons. She wanted to work till the end and retire as a proud mother.
On the day of her retirement, her three sons expressed their love for their mother and shared their feelings. Mahendra Kumar, one of her sons said that their mother raised them with dedication even in hardships and made many sacrifices for them. She never lost her hopes in the difficult times they had and did not let them feel broken.
She is a cleaner of the colony, but she wanted to make her children live a prestigious life like others. She worked very hard for that. Her sons also did not let her efforts go to waste. Noting her hope, courage and dedication, her sons worked very hard to reach high goals. They succeeded.
Sumitra succeeded as a peon by working hard and keeping roads clean in CCL for 30 years and gained the affection of the residents of the colony. She is a successful mother whose sons are well-settled and achieved a great position in the society.
