Meet Nomesh, the Young Rubik’s Cube Artist

Class VIII student Anumula Nomesh has transformed Rubik’s Cubes into an unusual form of artistic expression.

With exceptional memory, patience and concentration, the young talent creates portraits of prominent personalities, pays tribute to Indian soldiers and highlights social causes.

His creative approach has turned an ordinary puzzle into a powerful medium for art, awareness and inspiration.

Nomesh, the son of Pradeep and Swathi, lives in Bank Colony under Nellore rural limits. His fascination with Rubik’s Cubes began when he was very young.

He spent hours practising at home and gradually learned to solve cubes with increasing speed and accuracy. Over time, his hobby developed into a creative talent involving multiple cubes and complex designs.

One of his standout performances involved creating a portrait of President Droupadi Murmu.

Nomesh used 30 Rubik’s Cubes and completed the portrait in just five minutes and 24 seconds while blindfolded.

The feat required exceptional memory and concentration and drew appreciation during his school’s Children’s Day celebrations.

He had earlier created a portrait of Prime Minister Narendra Modi using 16 cubes. He completed the arrangement in 13 minutes and eight seconds, earning recognition from teachers, officials and members of the public.

Nomesh has also used his talent to pay tribute to India’s armed forces. He created a portrait featuring Indian soldiers and the national flag in 21 minutes and 43 seconds.

The artwork reflected his admiration for the courage and sacrifice of the country’s soldiers.

Nomesh uses his Rubik’s Cube skills for more than just creating portraits. He has also turned the colourful puzzles into a creative platform for spreading important social messages.

His designs have focused on women’s safety, International Women’s Day, helmet awareness, traffic rules, road signals, Swachh Bharat, responsible driving, Pulse Polio and the fight against child labour, showing how creativity can help communicate meaningful issues to a wider audience.
